I mean, could a robot endowed with consciousness have an afterlife. Aren’t we like flesh robots anyway? In other words, is it our consciousness that gives us the license towards the afterlife or is it our flesh? If humans and animals are imagined to have an afterlife, can electronics have an afterlife?

Perhaps an artificially intelligent machine could upon death turn itself into an invisible immaterial substance, like a soul, when it is finally unplugged or destroyed?

There are three parts to a person. The ‘physical body’, the ‘Spirit’, which all living things have -[ it is more widely referred to as 'instinct' ] – Instinct is a sort of ‘pre programming’. It is why babies go to ’suckle’ (puppies are a good example to watch. The mother knows to ‘chew’ cut the umbilical cord too by instinct. People have a "Soul" as well. This has a ‘use-by’ date. The Soul is what can be ‘everlasting’. The Soul can over-ride instinct – (free will).
Christ’s Second Coming will sort out the ‘failures’ – Many should know better – but choose not to.
God gave us our Human Rights – so Religion should be Political.

So, NO. One can’t pre programme a robot. The material used is sort of ‘dead’ so has no ‘life’ to pass on. An electric battery can only make it seem like it has ‘life’.

A ‘useful’ idea – for cutting "land-fill" rubbish – but not practical -
