Has it helped you in the real world? Or does the game just improve your skills for playing the game?

Boring, I fall asleep when playing the freaking game.

They are useful to keep the mind a little bit more alert, particularly if you don't use mathematical or raw logical skills in your daily work and routine. It won't turn you into a genius overnight, but I would liken it to the brain's equivalent of taking a brisk walk each day. You'll feel a little bit better, it'll keep your mind just a little bit sharper, and it can help your reaction time.

It's been proven that skill in certain video games that require quick thinking, good reaction time, and strong hand-eye coordination correlates with increased skill in certain jobs such as surgery. It makes sense in the way that those who practice quick, fine movements will be more skilled. So, likely, Brain Training, Brain Age, or any other game of the like probably will help most people who practice regularly.

Personally, I notice things like that keep me just a little bit sharper. If you enjoy it, stick with it!
